FIAT ecoDrive is already available on the FIAT 500 & FIAT GRANDE PUNTO

WHAT IS ECODRIVE

Today, FIAT 500 and Grande Punto drivers can download and install  ecoDrive without any additional expense. EcoDrive is a system that allows motorists a better understanding of the way in which their driving style influences fuel consumption and may lead to an increased environmental impact. Lorenzo Sistino, CEO of FIAT Automobiles, revealed this groundbreaking system at the 2008 Paris Motor Motor Show, making it clear that by the year 2009 the system will be available throughout the whole FIAT range equipped with Blue&Me.


WHAT IS ECODRIVE

EcoDrive is a system that allows motorists a better understanding of the way in which their driving style influences fuel consumption and may lead to an increased environmental impact.




HOW ECODRIVE OPERATES

The way that this device functions is very simple, when the car is being driven ecoDrive gathers all the data concerning the vehicle and the driving style of the motorist. All the relevant information is subsequently collected through the USB hub of the Blu&Me device and transmitted onto a USB key thereafter it is available to be viewed via a normal domestic computer.
Customers with a computer can therefore regularly check the fuel consumption and emissions from their journeys (ecoIndex) and receive driving tips on how to achieve a lower environmental impact.
Moreover, FIAT’s ecoDrivers can become part of the newly founded “EcoVille”, an on-line community where users can share interests and thoughts in regard to more eco-responsible driving.
